Lagos State has lost one of its revered businessmen and entrepreneurs.
Influential businessman, Otunba Adekunle Ojora has died at the ripe age of 93.
His passing was announced on Wednesday by the Lagos Royal Family of the late Prince Abdul Lasisi Ajayi Ojora. It disclosed that Otunba Ojora passed on in the early morning of January 28, 2026.
Ojora was born on June 13, 1932 and was an influential figure in public service, politics and corporate governance. He was the Chairman of AGIP Nigeria Ltd between 1971 and 2002. In the 1950s, he worked at the British Broadcasting Corporation after studying Journalism in London. When he returned to Nigeria, he worked as a Reporter with the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation.
He was married to his devoted wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora with whom he had four children including an only female, Toyin, who is married to former Senate President and two-term Governor of Kwara State, Dr Bukola Saraki. His first two sons are late.
A holder of multiple Chieftaincy titles, he was Otunba of Lagos, Lisa of Ife, the Head of the Ojora Royal Family and Olori Omoba of Lagos.
