There seems to be more trouble for the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, as the State Chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), embarked on an indefinite industrial action. The action began as soon as she resumed duty after the controversy which trailed her purported suspension by the State government.
The strike action which began with immediate effect, the Union said, is indefinite.
It was declared on Wednesday by the Chairman of JUSUN in the State, Oluwagbenga Eludire.
The strike came on the heels of the protest on Monday and Tuesday by Osun JUSUN over the allegations of maladministration against the embattled Chief Judge.
JUSUN, also, accused her of unduly persecuting some members of staff and denying them their entitlements ranging from restoration of training exercises, arrears of wardrobe allowances from 2021 to 2023 and reinstatement of Judiciary staff in the State suspended by the CJ.
Other demands by JUSUN include “Regularisation and promotion exercise without further delay.
“Also other benefits that members of JUSUN are entitled to should be effected without further delays.”
Eludire directed all Judiciary workers in the State to stay away from the Courts and their offices and withdraw their services.
