The PDP governorship candidate in Osun state, Ademola Adeleke probably had premonition that the judgment of Court of Appeal will not favour him, this must have informed his decision to travel out of the country yesterday.
The senator who’s under trial over issue relating to his WAEC certificate was only allowed to leave the country after he has been cleared by the court to do so.
But barely few hours after he left the country, a five man panel of the court has ruled that Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC actually won the election.
Oyetola was announced winner after the second ballot considered to be very controversial.
Recall that the election tribunal sitting in Abuja had two months ago upturned the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declaring Governor Oyetola winner of the election held last year.
But the candidate of the APC had appealed the judgment asking that the upper court uphold INEC’s decision that he truly defeated his opponent in the keenly contested election.
The five man panel led by Jumai Sankey delivered the judgment with three member of the panel agreeing with the judgment.
A member of the panel, Justice Mbaba however gave a dissenting judgment.
