A few months to the 2022 Governorship election in Osun State, a Group under the aegis of Diaspora PDP Reformers has charged Osun electorate to come out enmasse and cast their vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate, Ademola Adeleke.
The Group alleged that the incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has nothing to offer the good people of Osun, stressing that the State has been deplorable in terms of security, economy and, is in retrogression.
It added that the All Progressives Congress, APC, should be rejected by the people of Osun as the four years in the saddle by Governor Oyetola have not yielded anything positive for the people of the State.
A press statement by the Woman Leader of the Group, Olanike Babawande, said that the Group is sensitizing the people of Osun as regards the forthcoming election as it is working tirelessly to avoid a repeat of the 2018 election in which she allegedly said Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was “robbed of victory.”
“Don’t allow a repeat of the 2018 election in which the party was robbed of victory. Be vigilant before and after the election”, Babawande said.
Babawande is also the Diaspora Coordinator for PDP National Women Parliament, maintained that “the present All Progressives Congress (APC) Government in the State has nothing to offer again apart from their usually abysmal insecurity and failed economic ideologies.”
Speaking further, the statement said “Osun State people should show the APC that the era of inconclusive and rigged elections is over in the state, and they should not allow the enemy of the people who camouflaged themselves as elders in the society to trick them again.
“Osun state people are wiser now and APC can no longer deceive us with lies and deceit.”
She reiterated the need for Adeleke to be the next Governor of the State, adding that for the State to move forward, it needs the PDP and Adeleke to achieve economic prosperity, statewide security as well as infrastructural development.
According to her, “Osun is desirous of a leader who understands the importance and needs of the youths and women so as to bring positive ideologies into governance in the state.
Babawande expressed optimism that the opposition Party will wrestle power from Oyetola and the APC on July 16, while appealing to the people of the State to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ready, ahead of the election.
