Lasun Yusuff, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has emerged as the Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election.
Yusuff lost the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship Primaries to Osun State Incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, prompting him to decamp to Labour Party, LP.
He is to contest the July 16, 2022 governorship election under the LP.
The former Deputy Speaker recently resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, when he submitted his resignation letter on Friday March 25, 2022 at the APC Secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun capital.
It would be recalled that Yusuff was the Candidate of Former Osun State Governor and Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and both men formed an alliance, targeted at bringing down Oyetola on allegations of destroying the legacies of his predecessors and disrespect for the Party’s laid down rules.
