Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed why he was absent during the mega rally of All Progressive Congress, (APC) to support Governor Gboyega Oyetola reelection has been clarified.
Osinbajo was conspicuously absent during the APC campaign that paraded the party’s stalwarts such as Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate, Abdullahi Adamu, amongst others.
Some had even suggested that he was absent at the rally due to alleged disagreement with Tinubu over his choice of Kassim Shetima as his running mate.
Mixed reactions have trailed Tinubu’s decision to pick the former Governor of Borno state to run with him in the 2023 presidential election.
But Osinbajo, in a post explained that he is on admission at an undisclosed hospital for a surgical procedure due to a leg injury.
The Vice President, who made the announcement via his verified social media accounts, said the injury was possibly sustained while playing squash.
“I have been admitted today at the hospital for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash,” the post said.
