Ondo State Police Command has commenced investigation into the death of a commercial s3x worker at a popular brothel in Akure.
Already, three persons have been arrested in connection with the incident, while two others are still at large.
State Command spokesman, Ayanlade Olusola, disclosed in a statement on Monday that the Ondo State Police Command has arrested three individuals in connection with the suspected murder of a s3x worker.
According to him, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 29th June 2025, at a brothel located in the Cathedral area of Akure, under the jurisdiction of ‘A’ Division.
The statement added that “At approximately 1000hrs, the Manager of the brothel reported to the police that there had been a violent altercation between a s3x worker and a male customer earlier that morning.
“According to the report, the disagreement began when the s3x worker reportedly complained of sudden weakness during an encounter and could no longer continue providing the agreed services.
“The customer became enraged, resulting in a heated verbal and physical confrontation. Despite attempts by the brothel’s manager and others to calm the situation, the customer insisted on a refund of the sum of Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000).
“He subsequently fled the premises, only to return shortly after with a group of miscreants believed to be his associates, with the intent of forcibly retrieving the said amount.
“It was this development — the arrival of the suspect with others to escalate the confrontation — that prompted the Manager to place a distress call to the Police.
“A patrol team was immediately mobilized to the scene, arriving promptly and finding the suspect and his accomplices attempting to recover the money by force, while the victim’s condition continued to deteriorate.
“The Police acted swiftly and professionally while the victim was being rushed to a nearby hospital in the Lafe area, officers at the scene simultaneously effected the arrest of three suspects involved in the incident.
“The victim was later referred to the Police Hospital in Akure but was, unfortunately, declared dead on arrival by a Medical Officer. Her body has since been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“Thanks to the timely intervention by the police, three suspects were arrested at the scene. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend two others who remain at large. Names of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.”
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough and discreet investigation.
