An end has come for a suspect, described as notorious by Ondo State Police Command, following his arrest.

‘Officer Koi,’ (real name,   Abimbola Rotimi), was arrested along with one Joseph Innocent, after a violent attack at Idanre.

Ondo Police Command spokesman, Olusola Ayanlade, in a statement, explained that “operatives attached to Idanre Division  arrested two armed suspects involved in a violent attack that left three persons injured in Idanre town.

“The swift operation followed credible intelligence received in the early hours of October 6, 2025, at about 0725hrs.

“Investigation revealed that one Abimbo Rotimi, male, aged 35 years, popularly known as “Officer Koi”—a notorious drug peddler, armed robber, cultist, and recidivist known for violent crimes who has long terrorized Idanre and its environs—and his accomplice, Joseph Innocent, male, aged 28 years.”

According to the statement,  both residents of Ehinpeti Street, behind White House, Idanre, invaded an Indomie shop owned by one Henry (surname yet unknown) and a house belonging to Abimbola Sunday along the same street.

“Armed with a locally made pistol, knife, and other dangerous weapons, they attacked the occupants, inflicting various injuries: Henry was stabbed on the fingers, Abimbola Sunday sustained a bite injury on her lower lip, while Akinduko Akinbobola, a commercial motorcyclist, was stabbed on the head.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Idanre Division, swiftly led a team of surveillance operatives to the scene.

“Although the suspects had fled before their arrival, a prompt intelligence-driven manhunt led to their arrest and the recovery of one locally made pistol, one kitchen knife, two pairs of scissors, and one axe.

“The victims were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, while the suspects remain in custody, assisting investigators with useful information.

“The case has since been duly transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and comprehensive investigation.”

Also in another operation, Police in Kajola division recovered a stolen Toyota Highlander,  and arrested two suspects.

The incident occurred on 4th October, 2025, at about 1800hrs, when one Olaolu Benson, male, of Lege via Kajola, was allegedly deceived by two individuals identified as Oluwajobi Ezekiel and Patrick Francis, both males and residents of the same community.

The suspects, who were known to the complainant, approached him under the guise that one of the tyres of his Toyota Highlander Jeep, 2012 model with registration number KSF 433 JR, was deflated, and requested permission to take the vehicle to gauge the tyre.

Trusting them as familiar faces within the neighborhood, the unsuspecting victim released the car to the duo, unaware that they harboured criminal intentions.

Rather than returning as promised, the suspects diverted the vehicle, proceeded to a nearby filling station where they purchased sufficient fuel, and then attempted to drive the car to Ondo town with the intent to sell it off.

Their deceitful conduct immediately raised suspicion, prompting swift intelligence coordination by the Kajola Police Division.

Acting promptly on credible information, operatives from the Division launched a discreet manhunt, which culminated in the interception and arrest of both suspects before they could dispose of the stolen vehicle.

The Toyota Highlander was subsequently recovered in good condition, and the suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
