Nsikak Eduok, Former Chief Of Air Staff, Dies |The Source

Former Chief of the Air Staff during the regime’s of the late General Sani Abacha and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok, is dead.

A native of Akwa Ibom State, Eduok reportedly died of end-stage kidney complications.

He was aged 74 years.

An accomplished Pilot, Eduok was allegedly disappointed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo who had promised  to make him the Chief of Defence Staff. But according  to Eduok in an interview he granted this magazine, Obasanjo not only reneged on the promise, but left him and other Service Chiefs stranded at the Eagle Square, immediately after he was was sworn-in as a civilian President.

Eduok is the second retired high profile Airforce officer from the state to die within two weeks.

The first was Air Commodore Archbong Nkanga, who was also the first Military Governor of the state.

Nkanga died of COVID-19 complications.
