In a first, Nigerian- born Lagos State girl, Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch, (née Adegoke) has thrown her hat in the ring as one of those aspiring to replace British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson in office.
Mrs Badenoch wants to be the British Prime Minister.
Johnson was forced to resign a couple of those ago in a barrage of scandals which cost him a loss of confidence from the leadership of his Labour Party.
A number of his Cabinet Ministers resigned from office, and abandoned him to his fate. One of them was Mrs Badenoch.
Born in 1980 in the United Kingdom, Kemi’s father was a practicing Medical Doctor in London. Her mother was a University Professor.
She was brought back to Nigeria where she studied at the International School, University of Lagos.
At the age of 16, she returned to the United Kingdom for her Higher Education.
She has degrees in Computer Systems Engineering and Law. Mrs Badenoch first worked in the banking sector before going into Politics.
Kemi got married in 2012 to Mr Badenoch, a Briton, and both have two children.
