Nigerian Army Gives Cash Donation To Family Of Teenage, Shot Dead By Soldier

As a follow up to the visit to the family of Ismail Mohammed, a 16-year-old boy killed by a soldier during a protest on Tuesday, in Zaria, Kaduna State,  a cash donation from the Nigerian Army has been presented to the relations.

Ismail was reportedly hit by bullets from a soldier that shot into the air to disperse a crowd at the #EndBadGovernance protests

Report stated that the family was given N300,000. A viral photo showed father of the deceased holding a big pack with inscriptions of the Nigerian Army.

This follows the Army’s admission of responsibility for the fatal shooting in Samaru, Zaria, Kaduna State in a statement on Wednesday.

According to social media user, Aliyu (@AliyuKwarbai) on Wednesday afternoon, Ismail Mohammed’s family has been given N300,000 for life compensation.

“The father of 16 years old boy, Ismail, who was killed by the Nigerian Army under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday, in Samaru Zaria, Kaduna state has received N300,000. N300,000 for life’s compensation of life?”

This Magazine was, however, not able to independently confirm to alleged sun of N300,000, given to the family.

But, the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), has ordered the arrest of the soldier who was responsible for the fatal shooting.

Also former Vice President,  Atiku Abubakar has called for an investigation into the incident.
