Egypt has become the unfortunate harbinger of Coronavirus as it registers it’s first confirmed case of the deadly disease that has killed 1,500 odd people and infected over 70,000 worldwide with 99% in China, forcing the head of the Chinese ruling party to resign.

Tens of thousands of Chinese are running out of food due to lockdown and there has been rumors of Chinese authorities putting patients to sleep secretly and reducing the official casualty number-a story analysts regard as conspiracy theory woven by critics of Chinese hardline government.

Reports indicate that the Virus has low possibility of survival in hot tropical zones, and therefore Nigeria is relatively safe from the disease, though it is said not to be a cast iron theory. Nigerians are of the opinion that the Government is ill prepared for any outbreak. There has been rumors of the virus being in Nigeria but it appears they are allegedly the hand work of mischief makers.

Meanwhile, contrary to general belief, Nigerians in Wuhan have been completely neglected by their country in the wake of the Coronavirus scourge. Many are part of those who find themselves indoors and therefore are running out of foodstuff. Accordingly, many are lamenting why the Nigerian government are the only government that does not care about them.

Rumors are also rife that North Korea also quietly killing any suspected Corona virus victim. This, according to the theorists, explains why the virus has been found in South Korea but not a single one in the North.

After the initial euphoria, the Ministry of health have been more silent on the virus based on the belief that Nigeria may be safe for now. Even the appearance of the disease in Egypt may not change that. Egypt is in North Africa and is a colder clime than the West African subregion.
