For the first time, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, alongside its top sponsor, Aiteo, will host the maiden edition of the Aiteo/NFF awards where players, teams and coaches that have shone like star over the past years will be honoured. The award ceremony which is scheduled for today, 19th February, 2018, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.

For the best Super Eagles player, Chelsea FC midfielder, Victor Moses has Leicester City FC midfielder, Wilfried Ndidi to contend for the award. In the female category, reigning CAF Female African Footballer of the Year, Assisat Oshoala has Francesca Ordega and Rasheedat Ajibade to contend with for the award.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and  his CAF counterpart  Ahmad have confirmed their arrival in the country for the maiden Aiteo/NFF Awards.

According to the NFF, ex-internationals  Christian Chukwu, Segun Odegbami, Daniel Amokachi, Mutiu Adepoju, Uche Okechukwu, Garba Lawal, Austin  Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Joseph Yobo will  be in attendance at the ceremony in Lagos  on Monday.

NFF 1st vice-president  Seyi Akinwunmi told thenff.com that  SuperSport and Africa Independent Television will relay the program live as from 7pm.

 Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and  Aiteo  vice-president/CEO Francis Peters are expected on the occasion at the Eko Hotels & Suites.
