The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFund has assured 6004 students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan that it will disburse loans to the institution in 14 days.
NELfund also assured the students that they will also start receiving the N20, 000 monthly stipends immediately after the students loan is disbursed.
According to NELFund’s Team Lead and Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr Aliyu Muhammad, who spoke during a sensitization programme in Ibadan, the state’s capital, The Polytechnic, Ibadan is one of the over 300 tertiary institutions that have benefited from the loan, adding that over three million students have applied for the loan.
Muhammad: “We saw the memo that the school management wrote regarding your school fees. We are assuring you that in the next two weeks, your tuition will be credited to your school account. It will be followed by the 20,000 monthly stipend for each student.’’
The Fund has recently been allegedly enmeshed in a N71 billion fraud, claims later debunked by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa.
