The National Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) 2024 Hajj Operations Committee has recommended the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport as one of those to be used for this year’s holy pilgrimage.
The committee expressed satisfaction with the equipment at the Airport, in Birnin Kebbi.
The team leader of the committee, Sanusi Gwandu said Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi, would be cleared for 2024 Hajji exercise.
He gave the assurance when the inspection team visited the airport to ascertain whether the airport was equipped with the necessary facilities needed for the Hajj exercise.
Gwandu added that members of the committee were satisfied with the equipment on ground, while assuring that intending pilgrims would take-off from Birnin Kebbi airport and return through the same airport.
“I am here with my team members from the federal ministry of aviation to see and observe whether Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi is qualified to operate and commence the 2024 Hajji operation.
“Let me assure that with the facilities we saw on ground at the airport, the airport is qualified for the Hajji exercise.”
Responding, the acting Permanent Secretary/General Manager of the Airport, Habibu Sabi-Kamba, appreciated the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris for supporting the airport with the necessary facilities which paved the way for the airport to qualify for the Hajj operations.
“We are proud to have a Governor of the people, who always listens to the plights of his people and do everything possible to proffer solution to their needs.
“This administration is always striving to put smile on the faces of the masses across the state.”
