NBA Shuts Down Courts Over Iheme-Nwosu

It is bad news for all those who have cases in any Court in Imo.

This is because the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Imo State branch, has shut down the Courts. The NBA’s action is protesting  the unbelievable insecurity in the country.

At an emergency meeting on Monday, the association resolved to boycott the Courts from Monday to Friday.

It decried the level of insecurity in the country, and are worried that Judicial Officers have suddenly become targets for kidnapping/or abduction in the past couple of months.

Most painful to them is the abduction of a Judge of the Court of Appeal, the Hon. Justice Chioma Iheme-Nwosu.

Of the Court of Appeal, Benin Division, and also the Chair of the Election Appeal Tribunal, State/National Assemblies, she was abducted on Wednesday, last week in Benin City.

The NBA is challenging the Federal Government and Security Agencies on her abduction, and non release, and has given an ultimatum asking for her immediate release.

At the time of this report, on Wednesday, the Hon. Justice has been in the hands of her abductors for one week.
