The Senator representing Kogi Central in the Senate had announced her plan to visit her constituency amidst the ongoing efforts to recall her from the National assembly.

Ahead her visit, the state government had banned the use of convoys and sirens, which , according to close sources in the state, was meant to prevent her from coming to the state, particularly as such visit is considered to be her way to project her popularity despite the ongoing process to recall her.

According to a statement issued by the state commissioner of Information, Kingsly Fanwo, the government said it took the decision to prevent the loss of lives and breach of security.

In spite of this, Senator Natasha said in a statement on Tuesday that she will not shelve her planned visit to the Confluence State.

The statement issued by her media office urged her supporters to be ready to receive her while she is in the state to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents, saying those making the effort to block her from visiting should perish the thought, describing the report that she is no longer visiting as a ‘rumour’ that should be discarded.

“We are pleased to confirm that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Sallah visit to Kogi Central Senatorial District will proceed as planned,” the statement said.

“Her dedication to the people of Kogi Central is unwavering, and she looks forward to celebrating Eid-el-Fitr with her constituents.

“We would like to assure the public that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a successful and joyous event. We invite all members of the community to join us in marking this special occasion,” the senator said.
