NASS Debates Immunity For Themselves As Coronavirus Sneaks Into Africa; Saudi Arabia Suspends Lesser Hajj

While the National Assembly are busy debating after term immunity of principal officers and awarding humongous figures to purchase foreign vehicles for themselves, Coronavirus, which is fast becoming a global Pandemic, arrives Algeria via an Italian tourist. This is the first confirmed case of the Virus in Africa.

British parliament is debating on coronavirus and how it should be tackled amid the European Union failing to come to agreement on increased funding of the Union to fill the financial hole created by Brexit citing having reserves to fight the disease. President Trump has put Vice president Pence permanently to track the Coronavirus threat in America, underlying the importance attached to the tracking and defeat of the virus that started in Wuhan China and killed nearly 3000 people worldwide and infected over 81,000 people in every continent except Antarctica. Algeria has added Africa to the list.

There are now more reported cases outside China than in China in one day.

Alarm measures are being sparked off in the Middle East and Europe, and in Saudi Arabia, government gets worried that measures to stem the disease are disrupting the Islamic worship ritual.

Saudi Arabia is arguably the most traveled to country by Nigerians outside America. As a  temporary measure, the Country is suspending the lesser hajj for now. They are denying entry to anyone from countries where the virus is detected.

Pakistan has closed schools in order to contain the spread of the disease. Japan, while limiting the lighting of the Olympic torch to fewer people, announced 22 more cases of the virus.

In Africa, there were reports last week that the virus has been detected in Egypt, but the World Health Organization declared that the victim eventually tested negative. But in Algeria, an Italian man that arrived in the city tested positive to the dreaded disease, according to Algerian authorities. Italy is one of the European countries with 11 dead and 323 confirmed cases.

In Nigeria, despite assurances by relevant agencies of preparedness and voting money, the only action taken seems to be calling on people who detected the disease on themselves to self quarantine.
