The newly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appreciated the All Progressives Congress, APC, President Muhammadu Buhari, and family for their support towards the successful electoral process that brought about his victory.
He thanked the National Chairman of the Party, Adamu Adamu, the National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, the APC National Working Committee, NWC and the key principals of the Campaign.
He personally appreciated Aminu Aminu and Babatunde Ogala for the way they handled the issues at the Collation Center where he alleged that “a Let Out Gorilla was put into his place.”
Tinubu took a swipe at the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, by saying he intends to change the name of Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, because of the name that is accrued to a particular person.
He specially thanked Senator Yari, Governor Matawalle, Senator Marafa for giving him victory in Zamfara State, for sacrificing the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate, Atiku Abubakar for him.
He said he is profoundly grateful for the resounding victory recorded to make him the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Tinubu said, “whether you are Batified, Atikulated, Obidients, Kwankwasiyya, I respect you all as you voted for a better Nigeria, but be assured that a renewed hope has landed for Nigeria. I represent your decision and we will run it together.
“I commend INEC for holding a peaceful and successful election no matter what anyone will say. The lapses discovered were immaterial to affect this election. The election was reliable and the international community says so and the arithmetic says so.
“Today, Nigeria stands tall among others as the largest democratic community in the continent. You are all patriotic citizen, be helpful to our integrity and character.
“I thank everyone that supported my campaign especially President Muhammadu Buhari for his support, he is indeed a true patriot and also his Wife and the entire family as they kept their eyes on the ball and were committed, patriotic and firm.
“I thank my running mate as the Vice President elect, Senator Kashim Shettima. He is a movable pillar of support. Thank you for voicing it out that James Abiodun Faleke is here.
“Faleke is dependable, cerebral, supportive, vibrant and a pillar.
“The Progressive Party has the opportunity in many ways to betray your Party due to the cashless policy with some still owing Party Agents and despite the austerity measures, you made it possible Progressive Governors for me emerge President. There is no way I will intentionally let you down.
“I owe you a debt of gratitude, the entire campaign organization. The Women Leader, No Woman, No Nigeria, made it possible with intelligent discussions, brilliant ideology, particularly the leadership of their Women Group and were equally the highest number of dedicators that voted.
“Today we can reap the joy of victory, the power of democracy and power of desire. Let me say thank you to my Lovely Wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and you Senators don’t expect her back, she will be my House Wife in the other room.
“If you are not tired of me, I am not tired of you. Announcement has been made that I have been elected as the President of Nigeria, it is a serious mandate.
“I have accepted it to serve you and not be your leader but a servant.
“I appeal to my fellow contestants to come together and let us team up and work together and build this nation together.
“We must work for the unity, happiness and harmony of Nigeria. We must not act like that of Keshra that has no direction of a conductor. We have elected a conductor named President- Elect, let’s collaborate and create that symphony for composer music to move forward. We have what it takes and what is needed.
“The knowledge, creativity, the mind and we are the same country performing wonders in the same country. I promise to work with you to make Nigeria a place of destination where people can contribute to the development of the nation.
“The Youth are the first and I hear you loud and clear. Whatever the cost we are going to chart the path together and embark on this journey together, United, no one is too small to be creative, by God’s Grace we will work together and I will pay undivided attention on education.
“We will be creative and funds will be available, credit will be available, no more strike, Universities will have autonomy, no more selling of handouts. Universities will have autonomy.
“I know where it pains and you will the reward of your election”.
