While not really addressing his health status, frontline Presidential aspirant on the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said that his health status has nothing to do with his desire to occupy the Presidential seat because he is able and capable.

The two-term former Governor of Lagos State spoke on Friday,  February 25, 2023, in Osogbo, at the Palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji.

Tinubu, who has embarked on visits to First Class Traditional Rulers in the South-west to ask for their blessing to his Presidential aspiration was at the Ataoja’s Palace for the same reason.

He was, according to reports, given a hero’s welcome in Osogbo. Allegedly, originally, from Osun State, his nephew, Gboyega Oyetola, is the Governor of the State.

Referring to fears over his health, considering the  office he is aspiring to, Tinubu said he was not applying for the job of a bricklayer or a grave digger but that of the President which needs brain and intelligence. He has both, he said.

Tinubu: “I have the brain and the capacity. If you hear them saying he is sick, I didn’t apply for the job of race running. I didn’t apply for the job of brick-laying. I went to school to study Accountancy and Management.

“I didn’t apply for the job of a  grave digger. I have applied for a job of brain and intelligence, focused thinking. The job I want to do for Nigeria is for Nigeria to be greater and be proud of itself, our children, and we leave a legacy of success, unlimited success  for our great, great children.”

Not a few people have expressed fears over Tinubu’s health status. Just before he declared interest in the Presidential seat, he was in the United Kingdom for months tending to his health after a surgery to replace his knee cap.
