Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has descended on those criticizing him for speaking against the zoning arrangement for national assembly leadership without due consultation with stakeholders.

The Governor had described the zoning arrangement, which has been ratified by the president elect and leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as an injustice and unfair to some members of the party.

Akeredolu, who is chairman of Southern Governors Forum spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, in a statement on Tuesday describing his critics as anti party agents.

“The Governor speaks his mind no matter whose ox is gored. He is incurably unpretentious. Governor Akeredolu championed and led the struggle for Southern Presidency with courage and sincerity. His thrust was hinged on equality, fairness and Justice.

“He supported, openly, the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. When the Muslim/Muslim Ticket was becoming an albatross, he started moving from one Church to another to speak to Christians to embrace Tinubu’s candidacy.

“When Ahmed Lawan was reportedly endorsed as the Consensus candidate of the APC, Governor Akeredolu was the only Governor that rejected it openly.

“He also tackled the CBN Governor and the FG on the redesigned naira policy which created hardship for Nigerians and extended till the eve of the election.

“The Truth is, these attention-seeking politicians who have outlived their relevance have scored an offside goal.

“Writing joint press statements filled with lies and disinformation will not secure them appointment in Abuja.
