A brother of former Banker, Evangelist Allwell Anyasado, has revealed how assassins killed the Evangelist and his wife, Scholastica last Friday.
Anyasodo and his wife were gruesomely murdered in their home at Dile Emeohe Mbaoma Emii in the Owerri North Local Government Area last Friday.
The assassins who killed them took advantage of the noise coming from a neighboring compound where a wake-keep for a deceased was taking place.
When they arrived the Anyasdo home, they dragged the former Banker and his wife to their newly completed house, into which they had not even moved and killed them.
They were not shot to death, according to eye witness accounts.
From the gory video of their bodies, they were butchered to death. Evangelist Anyasodo was, particularly, given a special treatment. After he was stabbed and butchered with a matchete, his body was burnt beyond recognition with what is suspected to be acid poured on him. Obviously that was because setting his body on fire would have attracted attention.
For Mrs Anyasodo, her neck was cut off, almost, while her whole body was, at once, stabbed and matchetted. There was rivulet of blood from the old house to the new house.
A devastated and shaken brother of Evangelist Anyasodo who spoke on the grissly murder said it was the rivulet of blood in the compound that drew the attention of a vet staff who came early Saturday morning to vaccinate the birds in the Anyasodo home to the atrocity.
According to him, he last spoke to his brother on the night of the gruesome murder. He said that they had both come back from the wake-keep, and departed to their individual homes. He, however, said that he spoke to his brother thereafter who informed him that the vet staff would visit in the morning to vaccinate the fowls. “I didn’t know that was the last discussion I would have with my brother.”
He revealed that nobody was aware of the tragedy that befell his brother and wife until the female vet staff arrived for the vaccination Saturday morning. When she entered the compound, she was greeted by an unusual loud silence. Then, she saw the blood strewn all over the compound, and raised an alarm. The blood was quickly traced to the new building of the Anyasodos where the unrecognizable bodies were discovered.
Scholastica, was a native of Emekuku, also in the Owerri North LGA as her matrimonial home, Emii.
The couple’s children are said to be based outside Nigeria. As the bodies of the couple were being evacuated, scores of people watched the scene in disbelief and shock.
