Murder Of Lucky Igbinedion’s Mother: Suspected Killer-Maid Arrested

Dominion Okoro, the housemaid who, allegedly, killed the mother of former Governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion has, finally, been arrested.

Okoro, allegedly, strangled Mrs Maria Oredelo Igbinedion to death, a couple of weeks ago, at her Ugbor GRA Benin city residence. She was hired to look after the woman who was on a wheelchair.

After the gruesome murder of the 85- year old woman, she, allegedly, ransacked the house, and fled with her money and jewelries.

All efforts to locate her failed, until her arrest on  Wednesday, December 15, 2021 by a combined team of Security operatives.

Okoro, from Cross River State, was arrested in Calabar, and bundled back to Benin. She is being held at the Police Headquarters, Benin.

When former Governor Igbinedion announced the death of his mother, he was silent on the cause of death.

It was the Media which broke the story of her gruesome murder. It is not known if Okoro was the only domestic staff attached to Mrs Igbinedion at the time of her alleged murder.

The deceased was the first wife of Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin.
