Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George, has faulted and condemned the composition of the Presidential panel set up to investigate Ibrahim Magu.
The embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was suspended Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari.
George said Justice Ayo Salami, a former President of the Court of Appeal, is unfit to chair the panel based on his antecedents.
George, the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland, also said he will wait for the outcome of the investigation before making a statement on Magu’s travails.
“On the panel set up to investigate Magu, headed by Justice Ayo Salami, I believe he is not fit to head that panel”.
“There are more qualified retired justices with integrity who can be entrusted with that responsibility by the Presidency”
“We know Justice Salami’s antecedents, and I say he who must come to equity must come with clean hands”.
Meanwhile, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has heaped praises on the Justice Salami led Panel, saying it will surely do Justice and be upright in the outcome of the Panel’s findings.
