In the early 2000, the name Danfo Driver was an household name in the Nigeria music industry.
Their hit song ‘I am a Danfo Driver Suo’, was a hit, and was embraced by Nigerians, especially their ghetto dance step, galala, that was the rave of the moment back then.
Sadly, Mad Melon, one of the group member of Danfo Driver passed on early Thursday morning.
The death of Mad Melon has thrown the Nigerian music industry into mourning, as the Ajegunle area of Lagos State is presently enveloped by sadness, with many of his fans yet to come to terms with his demise.
Veteran musician, Daddy Showkey, took to his Instagram page to break the news of his demise, praying for the repose of his soul.
It will be recalled that Ajegunle area has produced big musical stars in the early 1990s and 2000, and has registered its third loss of a major star in less than four years.
First was Father U-Turn and Baba Fryo, before the sudden passing of Mad Melon.
