The Labour Party, LP, has declared 2025 as the year of ‘unveiling’.
The LP Director General of the Directorate of Mobilization and Integration, Marcel Ngogbehei, made the declaration without elaborating.
Ngogbehie, in a new year message, warned that the party would achieve nothing if members are divided, adding that the quest to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, might just be a mirage if disunity persists in the party.
He warned the Obedient Movement, a group in the party led by its 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi to desist from stoking disunity in the party, saying the party needs cohesion more than ever to achieve its aim of achieving better a Nigeria.
His remark is however coming on the heels of suggestions that the party’s presidential candidate in last year election is planning to leave the party ahead the 2027 election in the country.
Obi had last year created the Obedient Movement, in what analysts said was a prelude to moving out of his party with his massive supporters. The former Governor of Anambra state has yet to make his reported decision to abandon his party, public.
Analysts insist that Obi has no option than to achieve his ambition to rule the country, outside the party due to the protracted crisis of confidence between him and LP Chairman, Julius Abure.
Recall that Abure had last year, following his affirmation by the Supreme Court as the Chairman of the party disclosed that the LP presidential ticket was not longer exclusive for Obi.
Ngogbehie said, “This year, 2025, is the Year of Unveiling —a pivotal time to transform hope into action and dreams into reality. It is a time to consolidate our efforts, strengthen our ranks, and intensify our collective push toward the Nigeria we all desire.
“However, I must address a crucial matter: Those who sow seeds of discord within the Obidient movement must pause and have a rethink. Divisions weaken our resolve, dilute our strength, and play into the hands of those who have no interest in the people’s welfare.
“Only a consolidated, highly integrated, and united opposition can dislodge the APC from power in 2027.
“We need every voice, every heart, and every thumbprint to achieve this. To the faithful across all states and beyond, I urge you all to keep the fire of hope burning, to remain steadfast in our shared purpose, and to inspire others with the same passion and vision.

“Let us continue to work together, guided by the principles of integrity, equity, and justice, as we build momentum for the milestones ahead. The challenges are immense, but our determination is stronger.
“Let this year be a rallying point for deeper integration, collaboration, and preparation for the journey ahead. Together, we are unstoppable. Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said.
