Ahead July 12, 2025, Lagos State Chairmanship and Councillorship Election, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State have sternly warned incumbent Chairmen and Prospective Chairmen that should they fail to live in their Council, they would be severely sanctioned.
The APC leadership in the State said that this is to ensure even development across Lagos Councils.
The APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, made the order that all Chairmen occupying the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Area, LCDA, living outside their Councils should immediately relocate to their domain.
The Party said that any Council Chairman found to be living outside the Council will be sanctioned severely.
Ojelabi stated that allowing the Chairmen to live outside the Council they govern often cripple development and deprive the people of the dividends of democracy.
Ojelabi made this assertions on Tuesday during the Stakeholders’ Special Engagement with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu ahead of the 2025 Council Election.
