LAHA 2023: Lai Mohammed, Musiliu Obanikoro’s Sons, Folajimi, Ibrahim Lose APC Primary; Temitope Adewale Wins

Folaji Lai-Mohammed, Son of Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has lost his bid to fly the All Progressives Congress, APC, Flag at the 2023 Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ikeja Constituency 1.

Folajimi failed in his re-election bid to represent his Constituency for the third time, losing the ticket to Seyi Lawal at the APC Primary held today.

The Kwara State born Folajimi garnered Nine Votes, while Lawal garnered 15 Votes to defeat the Chairman, Energy Committee at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Lawal’s supporters jubilated as Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Comrade Ewuoso Olamide, declared him the winner of the exercise.

Also, Ibrahim Obanikoro, Son of Former Senator, Musiliu Obanikoro lost his re-election bid to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency at the APC Primary.

Oyekanmi Elegushi garnered 25 Votes to defeat Ibrahim who polled 23 Votes, while Azeez Raji Rasaki polled Two Votes.

In the same vein, Hon. Temitope Adewale, the lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has won the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to seek reelection into the state legislature in 2023.

Adewale won the party’s ticket after polling 27 votes against his opponent who scored three votes.

Recall that the primary election, which was earlier scheduled for Thursday, was later shifted to Friday.

Speaking after his victory, Adewale, who currently chairs the House Committee on Transportation, expressed gratitude to the delegates for seeing him worthy of the ticket.

The lawmaker said winning the ticket of the party ahead of the election was a mark of the special love that he has earned from his constituents over time.

“With what has happened, I am challenged to do more, play roles that would constantly put my constituency on the map of growth and development as well as put issues relating to the constituency on the front bunner at every opportunity.

“With this support from my people, the push for victory at the general election will be an easy ride,” Hon. Adewale said.
