Lagos REC Says 20 LGA Results Yet To Arrive; APC Takes Early Lead In Ogun State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commission, REC, in Lagos, Olusegun Agbaje, has disclosed that no single result from any of the 20 Local Government Areas has arrived at the State Collation Centre as at Sunday afternoon.

Lagos State has a total of seven million registered voters spread across 13,325 polling units in the 245 wards and 20 LGAs of the State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, some stakeholders slept overnight at the venue of the State Collation Centre for the Presidential polls, situated at Lagos State INEC headquarters, Sabo-Yaba area, while some arrived early morning to see the process begin.

Some of the stakeholders include domestic and foreign observers, media, operatives of various security agencies, and party agents.

Earlier, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, the Lagos state Collation Officer and Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure, who was at the official opening of the centre for final collation of election results in Lagos state at 11.30pm on Saturday, said that collation centre would open at 10.00 a.m. before it was later shifted to 12 noon.

She said that became imperative because no single LGA result was available at the time.

However, in Ogun State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has cleared all 10 out of 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The results from the 10 Local Governments were declared at the state Collation Centre in Abeokuta on Sunday.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is trailing the APC in the results so far declared.

The 10 local governments so far declared were Remo North, Ikenne, Egbado-South, Ewekoro, Abeokuta North, Ijebu-North and Ijebu North-East.

Others were Imeko Afon Odeda and Ijebu-Ode.

Below are the breakdown of the results:

(1) Remo North: APC- 5814, PDP – 3627, LP – 984, NNPP – 22

(2) Ikenne: APC – 9,431, PDP – 6,616, LP – 2,698, NNPP – 39

3) Egbado-South: APC – 18,471, PDP – 5,012, LP – 3,126, NNPP – 117

(4) Ewekoro LG: APC – 9,778, PDP – 3,646, LP – 2,287

(5) Abeokuta North: APC – 20,094, PDP – 5,057, LP – 4,092

(6) Ijebu North LG: APC – 21,844, PDP – 7233, LP – 2372

(7) Ijebu North-East: APC – 7,430, PDP – 2,859, LP – 1,779

I(8) Imeko Afon: APC – 12,146, PDP – 4,560, LP – 568, NNPP – 32

9) Odeda: APC – 12,945, PDP 3,855, NNPP – 73

(10) Ijebu Ode: APC – 16,072, PDP – 4,057, LP – 3,162, NNPP – 56
