The Second Term bid of Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State got a huge boost and seal of approval, following his endorsement by the Governance Advisory Council, GAC.
The Apex Body within the state ruling political class of All Progressives Congress, APC, gave nod for his second term ambition to the delight of Governor Sanwo-Olu at its meeting this Monday afternoon at the State House Marina.
Though the approval of his Second Term ambition was not surprising as the National Leader of the APC and frontline Presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had openly endorsed Governor Sanwo Olu.
With the APC Governorship election primaries slated for May 27 and the GAC approval, it is certain that he will emerge as the Party’s Governorship Candidate come 2023.
With this endorsement, the coast is clear for Governor Sanwo-Olu to prepare for his re-election and also go ahead and pick his nomination forms for the election.
Immediate past Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode was denied the Party’s ticket for second term by the GAC allegedly for performing poorly in office.
It was the first time in the history of the State since 1999 that a sitting Governor in Lagos State was denied a second term in office.
