The feelings in the late politian’s family has marked the level of condemnation that greeted the demolition.
Prominent politians and individuals in the state have trenchantly criticised the unpopular action of the APC government.
The property located in GRA, Ilorin l, the state’s capital was demolished in the wee hours of Thursday by officials of the state government.
The government had earlier revoked the land from the Sarski’s family, because the land documents, it claimed was not properly filed.
The magazine had witnessed a massive protest on Wednesday at the GRA, where the property was located, by angry old women opposing the demolition.
In spite of this the government still went ahead claiming the decision was in public interest.
But in a swift reaction to the incident, immediate past Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has criticised the action as a vendetta by the state’s government, to obliterate the legacies of his late father.
Following in tow, is Senator Gbemi Saraki, the minister of state for Transportation who has criticised the action of the state government.
Gbemi is a member of the All Progressive Congress, APC, the ruling party in the Harmony State, as Kwara is widely known.
The incident, the magazine learnt from party sources in the state, will affect the harmony in Kwara APC as well as the relationship between the minister and Governor Abdul Razak.
The two politicians were among the alliance formed by political blocs in the APC which led to the defeat of PDP led by Bukola, Gbemi’s brother and a former governor of the state.
It was however learnt that the rival siblings have now formed a united front against the governor for declining entreaties not to demolish the property.
The property, the state government said, will now be used for the construction of a state secretariat.
