There is a strong speculation that the Kwara All Progressives Congress, APC, has reserved the Kwara Central Senatorial Ticket for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who will be completing his second term by May 2027.
This is as no Aspirant has shown interest in contesting for the seat, giving Governor Abdulrahman an edge.
It was gathered that the incumbent Senator, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, may be vying for the Governorship Position during the 2027 General Elections.
Although, Senator Mustapha is yet to openly declare interest to contest for the Kwara Governorship Seat but his supporters have started creating awareness.
Political Commentators opine that Senator Mustapha’s ambition has created cold war between him and the Governor.
It would be recalled that the Kwara Central APC Elders Forum launched consultation tour across four local government areas in the district to rally support for the Governor’s next political move.
During the Elders’ visit to Ilorin South, the Chairman, Hon Nuhu Podo urged Governor Abdulrazaq to contest for the Senatorial Seat by 2027.
