Kogi Police Command Presents Millions To Families Of Its Fallen Officers

The Kogi State Police Command on Thursday August 21, 2025, provided a life line of over  N52 million  to the  families of 27 personnel who died in the line of duty .

A statement from the spokesperson for the Command, SP William Aya, said the financial support to the families of the fallen officers was made under the Group Life Assurance Scheme and the Inspector General of Police  Family Welfare Scheme.

According to Aya, the gesture which is aimed at improving the welfare and well-being of the family members of the departed personnel is, also, in tandem with the IGP’s unwavering commitment towards ensuring the protection of the interests of the families left behind by the fallen heroes.

Represented at the occasion of the presentation of the cheques to the beneficiaries by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller  Dantawaye, urged them to make judicious use of the money.

He charged them to always place the upkeep and future of their families above any other considerations in the application of the funds.

“The total sum of N 52 ,885,344 .93 ( Fifty Two Million ,Eight Hundred and Eighty Five Thousand ,Three Hundred and Forty Four Naira ,Eighty Kobo ) was disbursed to 27 families of fallen heroes of the Command”. the CP stated.

CP Dantawaye emphasized that the funds, if rightly applied will go a long way in mitigating the effects of the loss of the officers on their families.
