The victims were kidnapped returning from the village with their families and ordered out of the vehicle around Ora River,  abandoning the families on the road, stranded and looking for help.

The hoodlums used vehicles to block the road at about 7. 00pm  and shot sporadically in the air. Families say they have not been contacted by the abductors.

In a related development, two senior Immigration officers kidnapped on their way home for the Sallah holidays have been released. Speaking to this Magazine on condition of anonymity, a senior Immigration officer confirmed the story, saying that the news took him by surprise, making him cancel his own planned trip. “

“This security issue is very serious”, he said. “I had to cancel my own planned trip when I heard this. They are my colleagues in the Lagos Office”, he said.

According to him, the security situation has become so bad that even the late Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, and and former Life Patron of the Newspapers proprietors association, Isa Funtua, had to be buried in Abuja due to security concerns over taking them back to their respective home towns.
