In a compassionate move to mark the Holy month of Ramadan and the Sallah festivities, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has taken action to alleviate the burden of 222 inmates across various correctional facilities in the state. These inmates were detained due to their inability to pay fines imposed on them by different courts of law.
According to a statement released by Fadila Muhammad Dikko Esq, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Katsina State, Governor Radda’s initiative aims to decongest the custodial centers and allow the inmates to celebrate Sallah with their families.
Fadila expressed her sincere gratitude to the Governor, acknowledging the significance of this gesture in providing relief to those incarcerated for minor commercial and non-capital offenses.
