Katsina: Bandits Surrender, Release Ten Captives

The onslaught against banditry in the northern part of the country is achieving result as a popular bandit leader, Abu Radde, along with his group, surrendered to security forces in Katsina State.

Report stated that the move came as part of a peace deal facilitated by security agencies and local authorities.

As part of the agreement, Radde and his men released ten kidnapped victims. The individuals were immediately taken to a general hospital for medical checks.

According to report, Radde was not the only one who gave up  the arms.

Others, include Audu Lankai, Ori, Gila, Adamu Gurbi, Nawagini, Umar Black, Margyal, and Aloda, also decided to end their activities.

They met security officials at Kwari Village Primary School in Jibia Local Government Area, where discussions were held.

During the meeting, the bandits handed over two AK-47 rifles to the military as proof of their willingness to abandon violence.

They also promised to release more captives and stop attacking communities in the region.

Local authorities have assured residents that security personnel will continue monitoring the situation to maintain peace in the area.
