The Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, during the 2023 General Elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has raised the red flag on alleged plans by some political forces working in concert with some elements at the Federal level to instigate a regime of emergency in Kano state.
But he has sounded a note of warning to those harbouring such motive that they have the political will to stand them eye ball to eye ball.
The former Governor of the State who spoke at the occasion of the flag off of the construction of 85 km rural roads network in his Local Council Madobi, by Governor Abba Yusuf, also, accused same coalition of forces of trying to breed the Boko Haram set of insurgents and terrorists in Kano under the guise of playing politics.
But in all ,he has warned that they can neither be intimidated nor run out of the country’s political space .
“We dare anybody who thinks he can victimize us, politically ,to go and be rest assured that we are ready for the fight .
“We are not afraid to be out of power because we will remain politicians in and out of Government. We cannot run away from our destiny.
“We are humans ,and know what is good for us and we will pursue it vigorously .
“There are people from Kano ,enemies of the State ,who also suffering mental illness and are the ones advising the Federal Government on how to take over kano through a State of Emergency .
“This is madness of the highest order that the good, peace loving and committed people of kano will resist.” Kwankwaso vowed
The former Presidential hopeful asserted that the whole idea of turning the State into a political chessboard is informed by the desperation of some political forces on a mission to actualize their political ambition come 2027.
“But we will rather prefer the two of us to lose than to allow them crush us unnecessarily.
“We have mass following because people believe in us .We are pro-people and the NNPP administration in the State is determined to serve them anywhere they voted for it .
Senator Kwankwaso warned that there are under ground moves to capitalize on the ongoing royal stool crisis to throw the state into darkness, noting that Security Agencies rather than ensuring peace and stability, have been backing the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero .
He insisted that such attempt to undermine the peace and stability of the State, will only result in the creation of a worse scenario than the present Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern region of the country.
