Fiery Kano politician, Alhaji Abdulmajid Danbiliki Kwanmanda, who penultimate week, was arrested ,and remanded in a Kano Correctional Center over alleged incitment of the public against the Kano State Government on Thursday has regained his freedom.
The unrepentant critic of the Kwankwasia Political Movement in kano and its promoter, former Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , is also being accused of making incendiary and inflammable Comments concerning alleged plans by the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf- led Kano.State Government to reinstate the deposed Emir Sanusi Lamido in a local radio programme.
His arrest and subsequent arraignment came not too long before the commencement of his scheduled interview with The Source.
Danbiliki’s bail application which was billed for ruling on Monday January 29 by a Kano Magistrate Court was stalled due to the absence of the Magistrate on health grounds.
However, the All Progressive Congress, APC, stalwart ,and prominent member of the Tinubu/ Shetima Campaign organization walked into freedom late Thursday after perfecting his bail conditions.
Meanwhile, the Kano state Government has formally taken over the prosecution of Danbiliki, from the Police, which legal department led by Bar.Abdulsalam Saleh Danmaidaki initiated the prosecution.
However, before resumption of proceeding on Thursday, February 1, 2024, a Counsel, Bashir Saleh from the Kano State Ministry of Justice announced the take over of the case by the State Government.
“Based on the instructions of the Kano State Attorney General ,we intend to take over the prosecution of this matter”, Saleh declared .
In his ruling , the presiding Magistrate, Abdulaziz Habib granted the defendant ,who had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge of inciting the public against Kano State authorities, bail in the sum of one million Naira, and two reliable sureties one of who must be of the position of Permanent Secretary in the Kano State Civil service and/or a District Head.
The case has been adjourned to February 26 ,for continuation of hearing.
