Kaduna Hosts Govs’ Wives As First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, Flags Off Empowerment Programme For Women

Wives of Nigerian Governors joined the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu and wife of the vice president ,Nana Shettima to flag off a programme ‘Free To Shine,” in Kaduna state.

It was during an official three days visit by the president’s wife to Kaduna state to flag off some programmes initiated by Hafsatu Uba Sani, spouse of the state governor.

In a diary of activities released by wife of Ekiti state governor, Mrs Oyebanji, during the president’s wife visit, a sum of N50 million was donated through RHI to 1,000 petty traders to support their businesses.

Also, 10,000 Professional kits, such as scrubs and crocs among others were donated to midwives in the zone.

Mrs Oyebanji write “It was my great privilege to join the First Lady and Mother of the Nation, H.E Senator Oluremi Tinubu; H.E Hajia Nana Shettima, Wife of the Vice President alongside other First Ladies across Nigeria to officially flag off  the “Free to Shine “ programme during her 2-day working visit to the North West Zone of Nigeria (Kaduna State).

“The First Lady of the Nation, who continually champions the establishment of Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), again underscored the passion she has for women being the mother of the nation.

“I was thrilled to listen to H.E Oluremi Tinubu, the Coordinating Minister for health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Pate, and other dignitaries from WHO, NACA, UNAID and UNICEF talk extensively on triple elimination campaign of HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and Hepatitis among women of reproductive age.

“A million thanks to the Mother of the Nation for reassuring the nation, especially women, that the elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS and treatment of children born with HIV/AIDS would be prioritized.

“Thanks to our host and First Lady of Kaduna State, Hajia Hafsatu Uba Sani and the Governor, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani for the hospitality during this working visit.”
