Additionally, about N1.5 billion has been voted for the purpose of rehabilitating and upscaling of medical facilities in about 32 hospitals and health centres across the State.

According to Dr Kainuwa, the upgrading is aimed at ensuring that the health facilities provide 24 hours service with a view to ensuring that the needs of the people are met.

The Government, he noted, is aiming to enrol about 500 persons from the 287 wards in the State into the free health insurance scheme.
