Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has said it is a lie from the pit of hell to say that the APC hates the Igbo or Christianity.
A source close to him told this magazine that Uzodinma made the statement during his first meeting with the Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese, His Grace Anthony Obinna.
The governor, a member of the APC, sworn-in on January 15, after a Supreme Court judgement which removed The Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha from office, and ordered his swearing-in said he would not be in the APC if the party actually hated his tribe or his faith, Christianity
The source said Uzodinma told Obinna and other priests present that not all Igbo will belong to the same political party. The main reason, he explained, why people belong to political parties is to bring development to their people.
Said he: “I promise to get Imo state’s share. I will not be there and the state is cheated. I will not be there, nor will any true Igbo son, or any true Christian be there and watch the Islamisation of Christians. It is not possible. It is all propaganda.”
Since Uzodinma’s inauguration as governor, stories have been rife that it is a deliberate step to marginalize and Islamise the South-east.
