Former Aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri and former Minister of Aviation and Strong critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has faulted the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Founder of Latter Rain Assembly Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, of being mute over the Fulani Herdsmen heinous activities in the South West.
Omokri revealed that herdsmen are killing Nigerians of southwest origin, and yet Bola Tinubu, Bakare and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola are silent about the issue.
He lamented that few hours after the Fulani and Yoruba clash in Oyo State, the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, ordered the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest Sunday Igboho over his role in the attack. The order, he said, is a slap on the face of Yoruba, and yet the big men above kept mute. I is a big disgrace, he added.
“How do these men expect to be President if herdsmen kill those who are expected to vote for them one by one? It is now that the Yoruba’s will see who their real leaders are. Rotimi Akeredolu Aketi and Sunday Igboho are filling the glaring leadership gap in the southwest”. Omokri said.
Fani-Kayode on his part lambasted all South West governors for keeping silent on the killing and kidnapping done by herdsmen in the state.
He said that it was because they are looking forward to contesting for the 2023 presidential campaign.
Fani-Kayode stressed that according to the constitution, no one has the right to kill or turn the Southwest into a bloody field. Yoruba are not different from others and they should not be treated like sacrificial animals ready to be slaughter.
He, however, appreciated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, Sunday Igboho, Professor Banji Akintoye, Nnamdi Kanu, Afenifere, SOKAPU, and other Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), who have strongly condemned the kidnapping and killing done by the herdsmen.
