The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled to hold on March 11 by one week.
The elections will now hold on March 18, 2023.
A source in the commission who spoke with the magazine disclosed that the Prof Mahmoud Yakubu-led INEC needed the time to reconfigure the BVWS machines used during the presidential and National Assembly elections two weeks ago.
A formal announcement about the new date will be made on Thursday, the source who craved anonymity said.
Recall that the Court of Appeal on Wednesday granted the Commission the go ahead to configure the machines for the governorship election.
