For the family of the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere,  Friday, November 19, came as a long day. Their patriarch, father and Traditional Ruler of their community, His Royal Highness, Eze Henry Madumere, has been Kidnapped.

He was abducted by gunmen at about 10.00am on Friday. He is the Traditional Ruler of Ezi-Mbieri autonomous community.

Aged 89 years, he was abducted, not from his community, but from a nearby community, Iho, in Ikeduru Local Government Area. He apparently went to a meeting and was the target.

Reports say the gunmen, on arrival, shot several times into the air to scare other people, made straight for their target, and abducted him.

His son, Eze, was the Deputy Governor under the Rochas Okorochas administration, and is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The abducted Royal Father is a renowned Businessman, a successful contractor, and a nationalist.

The former Deputy Governor  confirms that his father’s abductors have made contacts with the family.

Recently, gunmen stormed a meeting of Traditional Rulers in Imo, killed two of them, and injured, at least, five others.
