The gunmen who kidnapped Chris Ohizu, the Ideato North Local Government Area’s Sole Administrator, have beheaded him.

The gory and heart-stopping video of Ohizu being beheaded, surfaced on Sunday, two days after he was abducted from his country home, in Arondizogu. He was beheaded after the sum of six million Naira waa collected from his family in ransome money.

Ohizu was abducted alongside two others when the gunmen stormed his home at an uncivilized time on Friday. Before he was abducted, he was shot on the leg and his house set on fire, and razed down.

The fate of the two people abducted with him was not known at the time of filing this report. He was, reportedly, recently discharged from hospital before he was abducted.

The grisly video of his beheading, recorded with his phone, was posted on Whatsaap platforms. It was the post that alerted his family and the public of his cruel fate.

In the video, he was stripped to his boxers, tied hands and legs, laid on the ground in a bush sideways, and held down by his abductors whose faces did not show. While he was held down, one of them beheaded him with a knife.

The abductors were heard  saying, “You (politicians) will hear ‘nwii’. There will be no elections (in the South-east).

It is not known why Ohizu was picked for the horrible treatment. But, a week before he was abducted, gunmen had invaded the country home of Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo, the House of Representatives Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency.  During the attack, three people, including his uncle were killed, his country home, and at least 20 vehicles, razed.
