The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is in a celebration mood, and for the first time in many weeks, not picking on the Judiciary.
The Party’s most vociferous voice in Imo State, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, who was sacked by the National Assembly Election Tribunal, from the House of Representatives, has been given back his seat by the Court of Appeal.
In a unanimous decision on Wednesday, the three- member Panel of Appeal Court Judges, which sat in Lagos, dismissed the judgement of the lower Court, and affirmed Imo duly elected as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the February 25th, 2023, National Assembly Election.
He us representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
His victory has brought to an end his political struggles of about one year – from the Party Primary till date.
The Court of Appeal Panel was headed by the Honourable Justice Abubakar Babandi Gumel.
