Ighalo Parts Ways With Manchester United, Pens Down Emotional Farewell Message |The Source

31-Years Old former Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, has bid the Red Devils as Manchester United Football Club is fondly called by Fans, an emotional farewell.

The Former Granada Football Club of Spain forward joined the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford landlord, in the 2019/2020 Season during the January transfer window from Chinese Super League Club Side, Shanghai Shenhua Football Club on loan.

The loan deal was renewed at the beginning of this current 2020/2021 Season.

The Manchester United loanee, however, ended his sojourn in England with the Manchester team, and bid his former teammates and team emotional farewell message.

Ighalo’s loan from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua expires at the end of this month. The 31-year-old scored five goals in 23 appearances for Manchester United. He is presently a subject of interest from clubs in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Ighalo has made only two starts this season since Edinson Cavani joined in October.

“It’s so hard to see this dream come to an end,” Ighalo wrote on social media.

“But I give God the glory for helping me fulfil this life long dream of putting on a Manchester United shirt as a player and represent this great club.”

The boyhood United fan, who has played just nine minutes of Premier League football this season, added that playing for the club was an “honour I will forever cherish and be grateful for”.

Ighalo is hopeful the club could win the Premier League and FA Cup this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“To the Manager, I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not,” he said.

Shanghai Shenhua are prepared to listen to offers for Ighalo with clubs in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey all interested in the former Watford striker.

Ighalo’s contract at Shanghai Shenhua runs until December 31, 2021.
