The Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has stated that the achievements, so far made by his administration is attributable to his preparations before coming to the governance seat of the State.
This is even as the apex Socio-cultural organization of the Igbo, Ohaneze Ndigbo has lauded the Governor for his sterling performances within his short period on the saddle.
The Ohaneze Ndigbo which Executive body was led by Chief Emmanuel Iwanyanwu on courtesy call on Governor Otti, at his Nvosi Isiala Ngwa country home on Wednesday February 14, 2024, noted that what they have seen on the ground in terms of achievements are in conformity with earlier reports from its field officers.
The President- General of Ohaneze Ndigbo enjoined Governor Otti, to continue in his present positive path ,adding that from the verifiable facts on the ground, the Governor is on track to making Abia an exemplary state in terms of genuine development.
Chief Iwuanyawu informed that the leadership of the umbrella body of Ndigbo was in the state to formally brief the Governor on the state of affairs and progress so far made by the socio-cultural Group.
He noted that Igbo land is blessed with many natural resources, which if properly harnessed have the potentials of radically transforming the region economically.
Chief Iwuanyawu, therefore, called on the region’s political leadership to take steps to change Ndigbo narratives, insisting that it is high time the region began to re-write its history.
Governor Otti while appreciating the Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership for their visit ,attributed the modest achievements so far recorded by his administration to his prior understanding of the interests and aspirations of the people.
He noted that before throwing his hat in to ring , he had sufficiently acquainted himself with the underlying needs of the state, hence his decision to accord priority to infrastructural renewal .
Governor Otti promised to sustain the present tempo of development in the state, and assured the Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership of his continued support for the body.
