I Deliberately Lied Against Agbaso, Chikwe, Ahize – Jacob Okoli; Begs For Forgiveness

A Politician from Imo State, Jacob Okoli, has confessed that he deliberately lied against innocent prominent politicians in the State – Chiefs Martin Agbaso, Charles Ahize and Chikwem Onuoha in an article which went viral, at least in the State.

In fact, he also lied against the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

In a write-up, titled How Hope Uzodinma Hijacked Peter Obi’s Labour Party he impinged on their character and presented them as people nobody should trust. In the process, even though he claims to be a member of the Labour Party, LP, he succeeded in planting distrust and confusion among the Party members.

He had alleged that all the three men, formally of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were planted by Uzodinma to invade the LP  take it over, and work against the Presidential aspiration of its candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

To do that, he said that while Ahize who is vying for the Senatorial seat of Imo West, was given the sum of N300m by Uzodinma to destabilise the LP in Orlu, Agbaso was given the sum of N70 million to take over Imo East Senatorial District.

In a swift response, Agbaso dismissed such claim as a lie from the pit of hell, saying he would never work against LP’s Presidential candidate on behalf of Governor Uzodinma.

But in a written public apology, the writer, Jacob Okoli, said: “I make bold to say that I did not only lie in that article, but erred also by taking advantage of the dislike of Governor Hope Uzodinma by Imo people to manipulate their minds into believing that those who genuinely failed (sic) out with him in APC because of his anti democratic handling of the party’s primaries in Imo State could easily be accepted as moles once I make such claim.”

He begs for forgiveness.

But, Uzodinma, this medium gathered, shocked that anybody could spin such lies against him out of personal hatred, is considering a Court action.

RETRACTION: HOW HOPE UZODINMA HIJACKED PETER OBI’S LABOUR PARTY IN IMO

Few days ago, I had written an article with the above caption. As I truly intended, the article spread like fire and created the intended suspicion amongst the labour party members in Imo state especially their candidates and even went as far as reducing the trust the party enjoy from their teeming supporters.

Since I wrote that article with the aim of getting at a particular candidate of Labour party whom I bear grudges against, I have had some psychological tormentation because of the harm the article is causing to the Obidient movement which I support even though I am a PDP member. Those who know me especially my close friends right from our days in UNN know that I will easily backtrack on any issue once I’m convinced that I have erred, which is why I am retracting this story now.

Though it’s very difficult to do what I’m doing now, but for the sake of the Peter Obi project which I do not want to be part of anything that will truncate it, I make bold to say I did not only lie in that article but erred also by taking advantage of the dislike of governor Hope Uzodinma by Imo people to manipulate their minds into believing that those who genuinely failed out with him in APC because of his anti democratic handling of the party’s primaries in Imo could easily be accepted as moles once I make such claim.

in the real sense, these politicians I falsely accused to have been sponsored by Hope Uzodinma which included Charles Ahize, Chikwem Onuoha and Martin Agbaso should be instead commended for standing up against the dictatorship of Hope Uzodinma in APC.

As a devoted Catholic, I have sought atonement from God and is therefore confessing my wrong deed here, praying that you will all forgive me as our Father in heaven forgives us when we sin.

I will equally visit the Labour Party Exco in Imo state to formally apologize to them for the embarrassment I have caused the party and the Obidient movement.

To err is human and to forgive is divine. Please let’s continue to sustain the tempo of the Obidient movement in Imo.
