He was 39 years old. Good looking. Brimming with a lot of energy. He had lived in Vietnam for 10 years. Meaning that he was 29 years old when he went there to live.
He had become one of them. Or so he thought. He even married one of them – a Vietnamese – with whom he had two children. He was a well-known business man and was doing well in his businesses, which included the exportation of some Vietnamese products to Africa. He was comfortable.
But in the morning of Wednesday, May 4, 2022, death came calling for this Nigerian Imo State-born Jude Chigbo Ihezie. Assassins stormed his apartment and murdered him in a most gruesome manner. He lived in Ve Linh Village, Phn Linh Commune, Soc Son Hanoi.
It is not known whether his wife and children were present when he was killed. But the merchants of death first beat him up, and then stabbed him many times on the chest. He gave up on his way to the hospital. He had already lost so much blood.
The Nigerian Embassy in Vietnam is mourning, and has confirmed and condemned Ihezie’s gruesome murder.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Vietnam, His Excellency Adamu Hassan Mamani said investigations were on, and every effort would be made to get to the root of the tragic situation.
Announcing Ihezie’s death on behalf of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Vietnam, Ambassador Mamani said:
